Hosted in the lecture theatre at the Healthy Futures Hub, Seaford, Victoria, this event is a fantastic opportunity to learn from highly experienced expert Sport and Exercise Medicine Physicians and Physiotherapists.
Please note: You will be required to complete your first aid/CPR certificates separately.

This course is designed for parent volunteers at junior football clubs, to enhance your knowledge and skills. No previous experience necessary!

Dr Leesa Huguenin
Specialist Sport & Exercise Medicine Physican
Dr Leesa Huguenin started MP Sports Physicians in 2004 and is a Specialist Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician with over 20 years of experience. Leesa currently looks after the AFLW St Kilda team and is on the AFL Medical Officers Executive as well as the Examination and Assessment Committee for the ACSEP.
Dr Leesa Huguenin is the principal Sports Physician at MP Sports Physicians with over 20 years of experience and knowledge in the field. Leesa holds a fellowship of the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Medicine Physicians and is proud to be involved in the education and training for specialist doctors obtaining their fellowship and masters.
Leesa welcomes patients from all walks of life, from paediatric through to late adulthood, from the local neighbourhood gardener to an elite sportsman and holds a special interest in exercise induced leg pain, tendon and bone health and AFL related injuries. Regardless of your background, her aim is to definitely get you up and running again!

David Beakley
Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist, MACP
David Beakley is an APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist with over two decades of experience.
From 2008 – 2022 David worked full-time in professional cricket, initially in the U.K. with Derbyshire County Cricket Club and later with Australian Men’s and Women’s Cricket Teams travelling and competing all over the world. From 2015 – 2022 he was the lead physiotherapist for the Australian Men’s Cricket Team, helping them ascend to be the number one ranked Test and ODI team in the world, as well as winning and retaining the Ashes in several home-and-away campaigns and winning the T20 World Cup in Dubai in 2021.
David has extensive experience in injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, particularly as it applies to lower back, foot/ankle and shoulder injuries. He has been instrumental in the development of scientific research, workload management and injury prevention strategies for cricket and has worked closely with professional coaches and players to ensure they are performing at their best.
